In the Southeast region of South Dakota there is plenty of outdoor recreation. You can go  Camping, hiking, canoeing, boating, sailing, fishing, hunting, golfing and more. In winter, you can go snowmobiling, tubing and/or skiing. The Missouri River and the Big Sioux River runs through the area. There are beautiful waterfalls on the Big Sioux River. In this region, find over 175 lakes to enjoy. The North American migratory waterfowl flyway runs along the Missouri river. Therefore, this region is a good place for bird watchers.

Tour historic sites and museums. Enjoy an ethnic festival. Ride a go-cart at an amusement park. Slide down a waterslide at one of the area's waterparks.  Visit an art gallery or museum.
